“I took the Access Computer Training A+ course in January of 2022. Because of Covid19 we did everything online, but it was like you were in the classroom. My instructor, Mike, was a great teacher. He explained all the chapters in the A+ Certification Guide to a point where I understood it very well. While I was studying to take the exam I found an ad on a website for a help desk level 1 person. I figured I’d go in take the interview and see how good I would be before I took the exam. To my surprise I did very well. I got the job even though I didn’t take the exam yet. All thanks to Mike’s great teaching. Now I am still studying to take the exam and they put me at a level 2 help desk tech. Working with Kristin Pelletier and Mike McQuain was very good. They helped me with any problem I had.”

“From our first conversation this lady right here has changed me, has changed my outlook on what I CAN do. I have always tried, throughout my years, to go back to school and I have but have always quit. (Life got in the way) Well not this time. I have mostly worked in an office environment and thought I knew Microsoft applications very well. Well Kristin showed me more than I ever thought the program was capable of doing. I have gone from a 20% knowledge of Microsoft to a whopping 90% knowledge. If you are looking to go back to school, Access Computer Training is the best place to start. They guide you through it all and you don’t fall through the cracks. The instructors are amazing, understanding and help you the entire way. Don’t go anywhere else call Kristin, you will not be disappointed.”

Common Questions

Everything you need to know before booking a strategy call. If your question isn’t answered here, ask us during the call.

Do I need tech experience to start?

No. Many of our students come to us with zero technical background — we have beginner-friendly tracks specifically designed for career changers and people new to tech. We’ll recommend the right starting level during your free strategy call.

How do I choose the right program?

That’s exactly what the free strategy call is for. We’ll ask about your background, time availability, and career goals — then recommend the best path. You don’t need to figure it out before you reach out.

How long does a program take?

Programs range from short-focused certifications (60–90 clock hours) to comprehensive bundled programs (180–338 clock hours). Many students complete full programs in 3–6 months depending on pace and schedule.

Are there funding options available?

Yes. Depending on your situation, you may qualify for WIOA workforce funding, VR (Vocational Rehabilitation) support, VA education benefits, or flexible payment options. We’ll check your eligibility during the strategy call. ACT does not participate in or accept Federal Pell Grants or federal student loan programs.

Is there career coaching?

Yes. Career coaching is included with every program — resume development, LinkedIn optimization, interview preparation, and salary negotiation guidance. Our career coach is a Highlands Certified Career Consultant.

Are classes online or in-person?

Most programs are delivered via live, instructor-led online classes with hands-on labs. Classes are also recorded for 24/7 access. VA Education Benefits students are required to attend in-person per federal regulations; all other students may attend online or hybrid.

What certifications can I prepare for?

We prepare students for CompTIA certifications (A+, Network+, Security+, Cloud+, CySA+, PenTest+), Microsoft Azure (AZ-900, AZ-104), ITIL 4.0, Certified Scrum Master, and Project Management Professional (PMP).

When can I start?

Start dates rotate throughout the year. Some programs have rolling enrollment while others follow cohort schedules. The best way to see current start dates is during your strategy call — we’ll identify the next available cohort that fits your goals.
